This coming Thursday and Friday I will be making my once-a-semester trip up to Skidmore College to teach a few advertising classes. As per tradition, I’m posting a few ideas on my lecture on my blog to get some early feedback prior to going up. Please let me know what you think!

The bulk of my upcoming presentation focuses on how advertising has developed over the years and specifically how Media has evolved. My aim is to get the students to see how the technological innovations of the last ten years have really transformed the way advertisers reach consumers – and further – how no one has really figured out the best way to use new technology in advertising!

The slide copied below is the one where I ask students to think about the technology that has developed between the years 2000 and 2010 and also to think about what’s next.

The question I ask at the end of the lecture is: “What will be the next technological innovation that will change the relationship between products and consumers?”

Any thoughts?
